Universidad de Wyoming

VETERANS BEWARE!! THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT CARE IF YOUVE SERVED AND WILL NOT HELP YOU! I am a veteran and decided to use my GI Bill during the COVID lock down to pursue an education in engineering at UW. I spoke with multiple faculty members before classes started letting them know that this was my first stint at an actual university. I was excited but also ignorant and I made sure to let them know so I didn't let anything slip through the cracks. I'd lived in Wyoming for the past 3+ years as a govt contractor and had proof through taxes and lease agreements. They charged me as a non-resident and never informed me. I worked extremely hard and passed all of my classes! Over the years I've jumped through hopes with the VA and their billing department to no avail. Nobody will help me and now I'm almost $7000 in debt for schooling (and thats for only 1 semester!!!) I had already paid for with my time in service and my own money while in the service. This school could care less about it's veterans or the free money they get for us choosing their school. I'd give 0 stars if I could.

Construction zone masquerading as a university. Can't turn your head anywhere on campus without seeing three seperate construction projects. Try not get run over by the ten ton earth mover on your way to class. NO ONE GOES TO SCHOOL IN WYOMING FOR DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN LEVELS OF CONSTRUCTION AND NOISE.

$100 to park our pickup truck in the Brown lot There was not another truck camper or rv in this lot so I'd assume it was just a reg parking lot. Little pricey UW.

Horrible advisors, I mean they usually are pretty bad but good job UW.

My alma mater, and I have a lot of love for UW. I have competed my bachelor's and master's from UW, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Laramie is a great town to go to school in that it small enough to feel like a community, has great food and provides other opportunities that create a memorable experience. The campus here is beautiful as well, and during my masters I occasionally served as a guide during our seminar meetings (online masters) to people that had never been to Laramie, and they were always impressed with the campus. I could go on and on about UW and Laramie, but just know I love UW, it's faculty, facilities, opportunities, and the memories you make! Consider it if you are looking to enroll! I was there for a soccer game. The fields were nice and the weather was good.

I strongly discourage anyone from attending this school. The service that you get when enrolling leaves a great deal to be desired. This could be because they have a monopoly in WY. After expressly stating the classes I needed to take my Advisor planned a path with none of the classes I needed. Their reason was most people just want to graduate. The advisor and financial aid office was aware I was still finishing my Associates before the term started. Then the financial aid office refused to release my financial aid till I gave them proof of my Associates. I requested to have all of my classes dropped and be removed from school because it was turning into a circus and the registrars office said they did that. I found out weeks later that not only had they not withdrawn me from the classes but they instead decided to finally process the financial aid 3 months too late. If you want drama, a circus, confusion, terrible service, or financial issues this is the school for you. If you don't then go else where.

The west side is nice, very walkable and less windy than the rest of the city. And, of course, a great university. The price is great for what you're getting. It is a wonderful university.
