The school would not give me transcripts directly; I had to use "Parchment," an online service that is very difficult to use, and rarely works. The school has become lazy and outsourced this service, even though alumni as myself have spent tens of thousands of dollars attending this place.

Great academics, but questionable management. Mines was able to prepare me for a great career and the professors are great, but the administration/management seems to be very intent on wasting money on projects that do not need to be done. They destroyed half of Mines Park to redo twenty-year-old student housing that did not need to be torn down. They are constantly tearing down and rebuilding buildings that do not need to be torn down. I worry for the endowment of this school, as they are clearly not using it effectively.

As visitor prospective, this campus seems small and limited spaces but views are beautiful, designed areas are not easy to find and understand, campus polices seem aggressive in patrol which could be better safety or too many issues around campus

Best school I have ever seen. It has a small campus but has thousands of extremely talented students. It’s located just few minutes away from the downtown of Golden city. Awesome people and full of attractions.

If you're a prospective CS Major, please, please, please consider your options before attending here. Their CS department an absolute mess right now and you won't learn anything more here than you would at another accredited university. That said, their other engineering paths are renowned for a reason. This is not a bad school, they just really need to reform their Computer Science track.

The reason I'm leaving 1 star, though, is the absolute rude and abusive behavior of Eric Cronkright in the financial aid office. I am in sheer disbelief that someone this immature, confrontational, aggressive, and dismissive is allowed to represent a supposedly prestigious institution. My interactions with him were my deciding factor in leaving the university for good and pursuing my education elsewhere. You pay these people tens of thousands to partake in their programs, only to be treated so terribly by someone who I can only equate to an abusive dad. I'm still just so baffled by it.

I'm posting this review on a private account as I'm scared of retaliation for saying this, but seriously, be warned. I really don't like humoring negativity, as higher education is stressful enough as it is, but this needed to be said.

This is not a bad school, it just has ugly corners that need some serious restructuring. Good luck to the future orediggers who enjoy their time here, and to those who don't feel it's a good fit, don't be afraid to be honest with yourself. We're all students trying to get a good education. That's what you deserve.

One of the best colleges campuses I've been on. Went here for graduate school and had a great time. It's clean and safe! I could walk home at midnight and never had to look over my shoulder. Golden is my favorite city in all of Colorado.

So far, all courses/profs are very informative and completely relevant to industry. Very different from my undergrad program experience in eastern Canada. Great school if you want a solid career!
